Are you in the City?

Dear Court,

I hope that you have made it to the city!  I think you should be there by now...barring no natural disasters, or rather no more natural disasters!!  Haha, only you would move into a city the day after a hurricane...well, you or me :)  I can't believe that it's finally here, so I wanted to check in and write you a letter of encouragement.

It seems like this time last year you were making your final choices in school and I was trying to help you read admission essays to help you narrow down the field.  You made the choice, you got in, you moved in, and now you are ready to go.  I have absolutely no doubts that you are going to rock this grad school program!  I have always believed that you would change the world and here you are making the first step. 

When we were younger, you were always someone that I looked up to.  It never changed during middle or high school, certainly not during college, and became even stronger as we've become 'grown ups'.  You show strength and grace under fire.  I will always think the best of you and have no doubts that I'm not the only one.

When I heard the news that you had gotten into U-Penn, it was kind of bittersweet.  I was so happy that you had gotten in, but so sad that you were going to be far away.  The thing is, I can't be that selfish because I know you are destined to do great things in your life.  You will heal others with medicine and also with your compassionate heart.

So...go get 'em tiger!  Go rock Philly!  I can't wait to come visit you!!!
